At the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games, the athlete made headlines when she scored the most perfect 10 in sport's history. Furthermore, she had six other perfect 10s and made her 14 years old the youngest Olympic medalist in all categories. The Romanian gymnast did not only draw attention from all directions and help Romania to establish itself in the world map. Through achieving a feat that was not possible the sport's icon helped bring gymnastics to the forefront of global the spotlight. Women's perception of gymnasts was changed by her performances. Her impact was so significant that she earned her the title of Olympic toe on and release move. They are still considered extremely difficult. Apart from the Olympics her performance was impressive. She also showed outstanding performances at both the World Championships and European Championships and was subsequently a living legend as well as one of the best-known gymnasts anyone could have.
