Taylor-Joy said that the move had been painful, and she refused to pursue a degree in English as she wanted to be able to return to Argentina. Hill House became her school preference after she was ordered to move schools. She later enrolled at Queen's Gate School where she studied ballet and acted in school productions. After 16 she decided to leave school to focus in acting full-time. Taylor-Joy's desire to become a professional actress was born at an early age.
